Pets Alive Spay/Neuter Clinic is seeking a skilled, hands-on Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or veterinary technology student actively working toward RVT licensure to join our high-volume spay/neuter and community medicine team. This is not an entry-level animal care position. Applicants must have at least one year of direct, hands-on veterinary or clinical animal-care experience with dogs and cats , including experience safely handling feral/community cats . We are looking for someone who is comfortable doing the work—not just observing it. Our team works together throughout the clinic, and every role contributes to safe patient care, efficient surgical flow, and our mission of making veterinary care more accessible. What You'll Do Support high-volume spay/neuter surgery from patient preparation through recovery Safely handle dogs, cats, feral/community cats, and fearful or fractious patients Assist with anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery within training and scope of practice Prepare patients for surgery using established protocols Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian and permitted by role and scope Maintain accurate medical and medication documentation Follow controlled-substance, medication, patient-safety, and infection-control procedures Recognize and promptly communicate patient concerns to the veterinarian Support preventive-care and vaccine clinics Assist with cleaning, sterilization, surgical-suite turnover, laundry, kennels, and other daily clinic responsibilities Work across clinic areas as needed rather than being limited to one preferred assignment Help train and support veterinary assistants when appropriate

What We're Looking For Required:

Current RVT or actively enrolled in an accredited veterinary technology program working toward RVT eligibility Minimum one year of direct, hands-on animal-care experience with dogs and cats Experience safely handling feral/community cats Strong animal-handling skills Dependable attendance and punctuality Clear communication with veterinarians, coworkers, and leadership Ability to remain focused and organized in a fast-paced clinical environment Willingness to learn, accept direction, and work wherever the team needs support Professional, dependable, and team-focused approach to the workday Experience in high-volume spay/neuter, shelter medicine, surgery, anesthesia, TNR, or community medicine is strongly preferred.
