Job Description
Join our dynamic animal care team as an Animal Boarding Facility Kennel Technician! In this lively and rewarding role, you will be the heart of our pet care operations, ensuring the well-being, safety, and comfort of animals in our boarding facility. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive environment for pets and peace of mind for their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, develop your skills in animal handling and care, and contribute to a compassionate community dedicated to animal welfare. Provide exceptional pet care by feeding, administering medications, cleaning kennels, and monitoring animals' health and behavior. Handle dogs and other animals with confidence, employing proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to maintain cleanliness and comfort. Maintain detailed records of each animal's health status, treatments, and special needs in accordance with facility protocols. Prior kennel or animal handling experience is highly preferred; familiarity with veterinary procedures is a plus. Knowledge of dog training techniques and pet grooming practices is desirable. Experience working with animals in veterinary clinics or as veterinary assistants enhances your suitability for this role. Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when moving supplies or handling large animals. Excellent animal handling skills combined with patience, compassion, and attention to detail.
