Animal Care Technician

Animal Care Technician We are on a mission to promote the welfare of animals and to improve the lives of animals both in the shelter and throughout our community. How does an Animal Care Technician help achieve this mission? An Animal Care Technician is self-motivated, organized, and outgoing with a compassion for all types of animals. An Animal Care Technician works as part of a team to ensure that all the animals in our care are fed and kept in a clean and sanitary environment. S/he is responsible for the daily feeding and cleaning of all the animals, providing accurate assessments of behavior and medical concerns, and following all disinfecting protocol to reduce the transmission of diseases. S/he is also responsible for ensuring all the animals in our care are treated equally and receive the same amount of care and attention. S/he should actively support the mission and vision of the Humane Society of Washington County. What qualifications does a candidate for an Animal Care Technician need to be considered? Must be able to work early mornings, late afternoons (until 6:00 pm), weekends and all holidays. You must have the ability to stand for 8-10+ hours a day. The ability to lift up to 50lbs.
