We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role is designed for someone who: Thrives in the operating room Is confident in anesthesia and patient monitoring Takes pride in precision, efficiency, and patient safety This is a surgery-focused position, not a general technician role. What Sets This Role Apart High surgical caseload (routine + advanced soft tissue procedures) Dedicated anesthesia responsibility Modern monitoring equipment (ETCO₂, ECG, SPO₂, BP) Consistent, hands-on surgical involvement Collaborative and experienced medical team If you enjoy full surgery days and working at a high technical level, you'll fit well here. Key Responsibilities Pre-Operative & Patient Preparation IV catheter placement and pre-operative lab collection Patient preparation, including clipping and aseptic prep Endotracheal intubation and anesthesia setup Anesthesia & Intraoperative Monitoring Induction, monitoring, and adjustment of anesthesia Continuous monitoring (ETCO₂, ECG, SPO₂, blood pressure) Accurate anesthetic record keeping Maintaining patient safety throughout procedures Surgical Assistance & OR Management Assist in routine and advanced surgical procedures Maintain sterile technique and surgical field integrity Ensure efficient surgical suite flow and turnover Post-Operative Care Monitor recovery and patient stability Provide post-operative care and pain management support Assist with client discharge instructions Equipment & Instrument Care Prepare and maintain surgical packs Ensure proper sterilization and instrument handling Ideal Candidate
LVT/RVT/CVT
preferred, strong surgical experience required Experienced veterinary assistant with advanced anesthesia skills encouraged to apply Foreign-trained or unlicensed veterinarian with surgical experience welcome Confident and independent in anesthesia monitoring Detail-oriented and highly organized Calm under pressure and able to prioritize patient safety Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented surgical environment Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on surgical experience and skill level Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off Employee pet care discounts Continuing education support Scrub allowance Why Join Canton Animal Hospital?
