Job Description
Overview Join our veterinary team at our small family-owned general practice as a Veterinary Technician/Assistant! We are looking for friendly, quick-learning individual to become a vital part of providing compassionate, high-quality care to animals. Experience with IV catheter placement, blood draws, positioning for radiographs, taking dental radiographs, and monitoring anesthesia is a must, but licensing is optional. Experience working with exotic animals is a plus but also not required. This position is ideal for passionate animal lovers who are also people oriented and eager to teach others and take on a lead role at our clinic. Duties Assist with animal restraint, handling, and pet care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures Assist in surgeries and anesthesia monitoring, IV catheter placement, venipuncture, etc. Perform dental cleanings and take dental radiographs Perform nail trims, injections, anal gland expression and other technician-specific appointments Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques in treatment areas, surgical suites, and kennels to uphold infection control standards Provide front desk support by managing patient records and communicating with clients with professionalism when needed Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, medicating and monitoring vital signs to promote optimal health Support diagnostic procedures by understanding veterinary terminology, assisting with laboratory tests, and submitting lab work Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, including radiology and laboratory work Teach assistants skills such as IV catheter placement, blood draws, dental radiograph positioning, and surgical monitoring Join us to take on.alead role at out clinic and be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional pet healthcare.
