Riverwood Veterinary Clinic is committed to providing quality, clinic-based veterinary care. We are a fast paced, growing, small animal clinic that is family owned. We provide a select spectrum of medical and surgical sevices in a manner that is client-friendly, technologically advanced, and information rich. We are looking for people who value the human-animal bond and want to provide the best for our patients and their people. Qualifications 2+ years of previous experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assisant is required. Ability to meet the physical demands of squatting, walking, lifting and carrying. Ability to work around substances such as blood, animal saliva, urine, fecal material, vomit, etc. Comfortable and able to work with all breeds, temperaments, and sizes of dogs and cats. Display outstanding communication, organization and problem solving skills. Retains composure while effectively dealing with client and clinic staff. What you'll do You will be responsible for ensuring that clients and patients receive excellant care and that services are provided in a timely manner through teamwork and friendly interactions. Assist veterinarians in appointments and surgery. Perform technical duties such as blood draw, catheter placement, proper restraint, radiographic positioning, anesthetic monitoring, properly preparing and cleaning all surgical materials, performing routine laboratory test, administer medication under the direction of the veterinarian. Provide client education in pet care, so you must be well versed in regards to various medical procedures and preventative care for pets. Complete the entire cycle of service with clients and patients, from checkin to checkout. You will also assist in reception area assistaning clients on the phone, scheduling, patient processing.
