Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care for animals while assisting veterinarians in various medical procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will help ensure the health and well-being of our patients, making a positive impact on their lives and the lives of their owners. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory work. Monitor animal patients pre- and post-operatively. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed. Maintain accurate medical records for each patient. Provide education to pet owners regarding animal care and health. Ensure a clean and safe environment. Support animal husbandry practices to promote overall well-being. Skills To excel in this position, candidates should possess the following skills: Proficient in radiology techniques and laboratory procedures (IDEXX in-house equipment). Strong understanding of animal physiology and anatomy. Experience in animal care and husbandry practices. Knowledge of veterinary protocols and procedures. Ability to perform animal restraint and blood draws with precision. Familiarity with pet care best practices and ability to communicate practices with owners to best make recommendations for patient health. Competence in maintaining anesthetic cases with proper surgical preparations and recovery protocols; ability to prepare surgical supplies.
