Job Description

Our Clinic Butler Veterinary Clinic is looking for a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to become a vital part of our medical team. We are dedicated to providing high-quality care to pets and exceptional service to their owners in the Valentine area. Our facility is equipped with 3 exam rooms, a dedicated surgical suite, a spacious reception area, canine and feline boarding suites, and a large animal treatment facility. We offer advanced diagnostics which include an in-house laboratory, digital radiology, dental unit with radiology equipment, ultrasound, and laser therapy. A variety of small animal surgical services from routine spays/neuters to orthopedic procedures are also provided to our clients. An interest in small animals is required. There is also the opportunity to assist with equine cases but this is not a requirement.
The Role:
What You'll Do Patient Care:
Perform triage, initial assessments, and nursing care for diverse cases.
Medical Support:
Assist in surgeries, monitor anesthesia, perform dental prophylaxis, blood draws, vaccinations, I.V. catheter placement.
Diagnostics:
Collect and process lab samples (blood, urine, cytology), operate digital radiography and laser therapy.
Pharmacy & Treatment:
Calculate and administer medications as directed by veterinarians.
Client Education:
Act as a bridge between the veterinarian and the pet parent, explaining treatment plans and follow-up care.
What You Need Licensure:
Valid Veterinary Technician certification (LVT) or ability to obtain one within a year.
Personal Skills:
A collaborative spirit and a "people-first" approach to medicine.
Tech-Savvy:
Familiarity with practice management software (Shepherd system) preferred but not required. How We Invest in You (Benefits)
