  • that values your skills, respects your expertise, and gives you the tools to actually use them. This is a hands-on role where your skills and experience will be put to real use — patient care, treatment support, anesthesia, surgery assisting, and everything in between.
  • Overnight shifts
  • put you at the center of the action — this is when the most critical, high-acuity cases come through the door, giving you hands-on experience you simply can't get anywhere else. With a smaller, tight-knit overnight team, you'll take on more autonomy and responsibility, sharpening your clinical skills in triage, critical care, and emergency procedures.   • What You'll Do
  • Whether you're a credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) or a technician in training, we want you using every skill you've worked hard to build:
  • Certified Veterinary Technician Skills, ER/ICU
  • + Triage incoming emergency patients, quickly assessing severity and prioritizing care in high-acuity, fast-moving situations + Monitors critical patients continuously overnight, providing scheduled treatments, tracking vitals and recognizing early signs of deterioration + Places IV catheters, draws blood, and manages fluid therapy and CRIs for critically ill patients + Assists with stabilization and emergency procedures, including CPR, oxygen therapy, and wound management for trauma and critical cases + Administers medications accurately per veterinarian orders, including emergency drugs and controlled substances, with careful documentation + Performs and assists with diagnostics overnight — radiographs, blood work, and point-of-care testing — to support rapid clinical decision-making + Manages recumbent and hospitalized ICU patients, including turning, padding, bladder management, and nutritional support + Maintains composure and sound clinical judgment under pressure, often with a smaller overnight team and greater independence + Communicates clearly and efficiently with the overnight veterinarian and team, providing timely updates on rapidly evolving cases + Maintains accurate, detailed medical records under time constraints, ensuring seamless handoff to the day team •As a CVT at VCA CAVES,•you'll work in a fast-paced, 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital in Concord, NH, gaining hands-on experience across emergency/critical care, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, neurology and surgery.
