Overview At Plaistow Kingston Animal Medical Center, in our state-of-the-art facility we provide high-quality advanced medical and surgical care to the surrounding communities. We are the blend and mixture of country while only being minutes to the seacoast. With easy commuting off the major interstate. Our clients and their pets are the heart of our practice and the reason we are here, and at all times will be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. We are currently looking for a Credentialed Veterinary Technician that wants to provide this type of care while they enjoy working with a fun, energetic and enthusiastic team. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including anesthesia administration, surgical assistance, and diagnostic imaging such as radiology and X-ray procedures Perform laboratory work including blood draws, phlebotomy, and diagnostic testing to support accurate patient diagnosis Handle animal restraint and restraint techniques safely for various procedures, ensuring comfort and safety for pets during examinations and treatments Manage vascular access procedures such as IV insertion and animal catheterization to facilitate medication delivery and fluid therapy Operate medical equipment including anesthesia machines, radiology equipment, and laboratory analyzers with precision and care Maintain detailed records using veterinary software, documenting treatments, medications administered, and patient progress accurately Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs to foster trust and clarity Qualifications Valid credentialing as a Veterinary Technician or equivalent certification from an accredited program Proven experience in veterinary settings with skills in animal husbandry, pet grooming, dog handling, and animal care Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary procedures Hands-on experience with anesthesia monitoring, laboratory diagnostics, radiology diagnostics, and emergency medicine protocols Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment management Strong animal handling skills including restraint techniques for dogs, cats, and other small animals; experience with equine or exotic animals is a plus Ability to perform venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertions, catheterizations, and other technical procedures confidently Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members while demonstrating compassion for animals' well-being Learn more about us at: http://amerivet.com/veterinary-jobs/
Pay:
$25.00 - $27.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
