Looking for the right match? We might be. EASEL Animal Rescue League is looking for an experienced, compassionate Lead Veterinary Technician to join our team. We're an animal shelter dedicated to giving homeless and abandoned animals the care, support, and second chances they deserve. We're looking for someone who wants to do meaningful work, lead with compassion, and help our medical team thrive. You Might Be Our Match If… You're a CVT, LVT, or RVT with at least 5 years of veterinary technician experience , including 2+ years in a leadership or senior technician role . You're organized, dependable, calm under pressure, and comfortable taking the lead. You enjoy mentoring others, improving workflows, and working as part of a team. Most importantly, you believe every shelter animal deserves excellent, compassionate care. Shelter medicine or high-volume veterinary experience is strongly preferred. What You'll Do... As our Lead Veterinary Technician, you'll help oversee the day-to-day operations of the shelter's medical department while working closely with the shelter leadership.
You'll:
Lead, mentor, and support veterinary staff and volunteers. Help coordinate daily medical workflows and priorities. Provide hands-on medical care, treatments, vaccines, and health assessments. Maintain accurate medical records and help ensure consistent medical protocols. Help keep the medical area organized, stocked, and running efficiently. Support a positive, collaborative team culture. Help identify opportunities to improve care and shelter operations. Bonus Points For… Experience with Shelter Manager , protocol development, staff training, or Fear Free® / Low Stress Handling .
