Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician or VTIT to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in veterinary medicine and a passion for animal care. This role involves providing high-quality medical care to a variety of animals, assisting veterinarians in clinical procedures, and ensuring the well-being of our patients. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and various technical skills related to animal care. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring proper protocols are followed. Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while maintaining accurate records. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal patients pre- and post-surgery, providing critical care when necessary. Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection. Conduct dental cleanings and familiarize clients with dental terminology related to their pets' health. Provide education to pet owners on animal husbandry, nutrition, and general care practices. Handle animals safely and effectively, demonstrating skills in animal restraint and catheterization. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic environment, including kennels and treatment areas. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with veterinary practices. Requirements Valid Veterinary Technician license . VTIT also welcome!!! Experience in veterinary settings is preferred. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy is essential. Familiarity with laboratory procedures. Proficiency in dog handling techniques and animal grooming practices. Strong communication skills for interacting with clients regarding pet care instructions. Ability to work effectively within a team while also being self-motivated.
