Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care for animals while assisting veterinarians in various clinical procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong animal handling skills and a solid understanding of veterinary terminology, ensuring the health and well-being of our patients. Duties Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both animals and staff during examinations and procedures. Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures, utilizing aseptic techniques. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Conduct laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams to aid in diagnosis. Handle dogs and cats with care, ensuring their comfort and safety during visits. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit. Prepare animals for surgery and assist in post-operative care as needed. Provide education to pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines while adhering to safety protocols. Qualifications NYS License in Veterinary Technology is required. Experience with animal restraint techniques and handling is required. Proficiency in laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is required. Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with clients and their pets. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for animal care and welfare is crucial for success in this role. Pay:
$21.00 - $26.00 per hour
