Job Description

Center for Veterinary Care in Millbrook is looking for a part- time or full-time veterinary technician. The Center for Veterinary Care in Millbrook, NY is a well-established, full-service small animal veterinary practice providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental services. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house digital x-ray, Endoscopy, Echocardiogram and Ultrasound capabilities. Our staff has the capability to work on complex cases independently under the supervision of a veterinarian. Work experience or working knowledge in the field is preferred but we are willing to train the right recent or upcoming graduate. A Veterinary Technician should be able to:
  • Compassionate care to patients and clients.
  • Conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks.
  • Understands the importance of a clean and orderly facility, does not hesitate to clean, or organize as part of a normal job duty.
  • Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees.
  • Handle client's medical questions with confidence and direct to veterinarians when appropriate.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to bend, stand, stoop, walk, sit, talk, and listen; will use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; will reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30-60 pounds. We offer flexible set schedules with some Saturdays. Compensation based upon knowledge and performance of the position.
