Are you a passionate licensed veterinary technician ready to join a friendly, vibrant and growing small animal practice? Sutton Animal Hospital, located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City, is looking for full-time and part-time licensed veterinary technicians to become key players on our skilled team.
What We're Looking For:
Veterinary Technician - Licensed in New York State Graduate of an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technician program At least one-year of clinical experience is preferred, but all levels of experience are encouraged to apply! Skills Our ideal technicians are proficient in the following: Assisting doctors during procedures and appointments with solid technical skills including but not limited to safe / low fear patient handling, venipuncture, IV catheter placement. Calculating drug doses, administering treatments, monitoring hospitalized patients Radiology technique and safety Dental radiographs and cleanings Anesthesia - induction/monitoring/recovery techniques Maintaining accurate patient records and taking detailed patient histories Communication! with clients, especially supervising patient discharges with appropriate medications, instructions, and gear, and discussing client concerns and questions. with doctors and staff to ensure excellent patient care Following established treatment protocols, hospital policies and procedures; contributing to updated protocols and policies as needed Proper use and maintenance of hospital equipment; ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the hospital About Us Opened in 2017 by Dr. Susanne Kent-Miller and Dr. Monica Kennedy, Sutton Animal Hospital provides high quality care for dogs and cats in a modern, warm, and supportive environment. Our state-of-the-art equipment includes a top-notch surgery suite, digital radiography (both general and dental), point of care ultrasound, VetScan-VS2, and rapid turnaround for outside labwork. In addition to our team of five veterinarians, we have regularly visiting specialists in internal medicine/ultrasound, cardiology, and surgery, with remote radiology specialists. Pay:
$27.00 - $34.00 per hour Expected hours: 37.5 per week
