Job Description

Responsibilities:
Perform routine animal research procedures, including vaccinations, dosing, specimen collection, anesthesia monitoring, and health assessments. Prepare materials and supplies for animal studies and assist with study setup and execution. Handle biological materials and specimens in accordance with applicable biosafety and containment procedures. Administer medications and perform veterinary procedures according to approved protocols and veterinary direction. Monitor animal health, behavior, welfare, and treatment progress while supporting enrichment activities and regulatory compliance. Maintain animal records, study documentation, databases, and research data accurately and in a timely manner. Collect and process tissue and other biological specimens for laboratory analysis. Maintain laboratory supplies and inventory, support general lab operations, and follow appropriate safety and waste-disposal procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related field, or an Associate degree in Veterinary Technology from an AVMA-accredited program. 0-2 years of relevant experience, including hands-on animal care. New York State LVT license or eligibility for licensure required. Experience with research animals and laboratory procedures preferred.
