Rocky Point Animal Hospital Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

Rocky Point, NY Schedule:
Full-Time |
Saturday Rotation Pay Range:
$23-$29 per hour (based on experience) Rocky Point Animal Hospital is a growing and busy veterinary clinic dedicated to providing exceptional care to animals in Rocky Point, NY and surrounding areas. Our team of experienced veterinarians and staff is committed to promoting the health and well-being of pets through comprehensive medical services and compassionate treatment. In addition to dogs and cats, we also see exotics including birds, reptiles, pocket pets and even fish.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where you can utilize your skills to make a positive impact on the lives of animals and their owners.
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with examinations, procedures, and surgeries Perform diagnostic tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and X-rays Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians Prepare patients for surgery and provide post-operative care Maintain accurate medical records Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and medication administration Handle and restrain animals safely and with compassion
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician Licensed Veterinary Technician Required Knowledge of Impromed and/or Idexx lab equipment a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
