Midwest Veterinary Surgery, LLC (MVS) is a concierge, mobile specialty surgical practice that offers a variety of advanced procedures performed by a Board-Certified Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, Dr. Kari Swanson. MVS is partnered with over 20 general practices across the Greater Cincinnati/Dayton/Northern Kentucky area, which requires time spent in a vehicle commuting between hospitals daily. We are seeking a hard-working technician with a strong interest or previous experience in surgery, sterilization/pack/prep, and anesthesia. Must have a positive, outgoing personality and work well in a team environment. Strong communications skills, focus, effective time management skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail are equally as important as having fun with your coworkers. Must have a desire for continued learning and education growth. National and state licensure (RVT/LVT/CVT) or A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology are strongly preferred, or equivalent training and experience in the field required. Hours are flexible with a typical Tuesday-Friday schedule, though a schedule flex for some Mondays may be feasible, and part-time is also considered.
NO ON-CALL, NO WEEKENDS, NO NIGHTS.
Responsibilities of technician would be, but not limited to: Able to perform general technician skills Able to perform basic animal handling and restraint General knowledge of canine and feline anatomy Position patients for radiographs Assist in sterile supply with cleaning and reprocessing of instrument sets/power tools Shaving and surgical prep of patient Monitoring anesthesia for orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries HR, BP, RR, SPO2, Capnography, ECG, TEMP, anesthetic depth/eye positioning Assist in the OR Surgical Scrub Nurse Circulating Nurse Ensure sterility of all supplies and instruments during setup of surgical procedure Establish and maintain a sterile environment in the OR Compose surgical reports via Microsoft Word templates, clearly and with proper grammar Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel Navigate Google Drive Operate and maintain M11 Autoclaves, Plasma Sterilizer, and ultrasonic cleaner Assist with inventory management Assist with development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) Assist with marketing initiatives Assist with operational and administrative tasks Demonstrate excellent leadership and people skills Demonstrate capable multi-tasking ability Maintain cleanliness of office and referring hospitals Interact appropriately and effectively with all clients/others Uses Standard Universal Precautions; appropriate hand hygiene, PPE, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment Serve as a resource to other members of the veterinary medical field Performs other duties as assigned Work in constant state of alertness and safe state of mind
Physical Requirements:

Educational Requirements:
Several years of anesthesia/surgery experience and/or Diploma of A.A.S in Veterinary Technology State and National license to work as a
CVT/LVT/RVT
preferred
Weekly Guaranteed Hours:
30-40hrs for full time, Tuesday through Friday Part-time position Tuesday and Wednesday 8:15am-5pm, other days of the week possible as well ~8:15am-4:30/5pm
Work Location:
Our main office space is located in Montgomery, OH; we do not see clients/patients at our office, this is our "home base" where we meet in the morning and where we prepare for the following day's surgeries in the afternoon. We are partnered with over 20 general practices in the Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, and Northern Kentucky areas, and we travel to 1-2 of those hospitals daily. How to
