  • Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic veterinary team.
In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care, assist veterinarians with medical procedures, and ensure the well-being of our animal patients. Your expertise in animal handling, veterinary terminology, and clinical procedures will contribute to a compassionate and efficient veterinary environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your veterinary technician skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of animals and their owners. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring all protocols are followed with precision. Perform animal restraint and handling using humane techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret results to aid in accurate diagnoses. Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and wound care to prevent infections. Manage pet care routines including grooming, feeding, pet grooming, and administering medications as directed. Take diagnostic radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed. Support animal husbandry practices by cleaning cages, feeding animals, and monitoring their health status. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing pet dental cleanings when necessary. Handle dog training exercises and animal behavior assessments to improve pet handling experiences. Facilitate laboratory work related to animal physiology studies and other diagnostic testing. Support emergency critical care situations for veterinary patients requiring urgent attention or intensive care. Maintain detailed medical records, update patient files accurately, and document all treatments performed. Experience Previous kennel experience or animal care background demonstrating familiarity with pet handling and husbandry practices. Veterinary technician experience with knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology. Hands-on experience with animal catheterization, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures. Exposure to veterinary critical care environments or emergency response situations is highly desirable. Laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and analysis is preferred. Equine experience or working with large animals adds valuable versatility to your skill set. Proficiency in X-ray imaging techniques and dog training or pet grooming skills are advantageous.
