Overnight Veterinary Technician - ER/ICU - Weekday

Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville is seeking an exceptional Veterinary Technician or highly skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our Overnight ICU team. Full-Time Availability required
Overnight shifts required
7pm - 7am
Overnight differential applies beginning at 12:00 AM ($2/hour)
🩺 Key Responsibilities - ICU & Emergency Medicine
Patient Care & Advanced Technical Skills
Provide overnight monitoring and management of ICU and critical care patients
Perform advanced technical procedures including:
IV catheter placement
Blood collection and transfusions
Radiographs
Anesthesia induction and monitoring
Assist with emergency stabilization, triage, and urgent interventions
Support Internal Medicine diagnostics such as ultrasound, endoscopy, and advanced lab testing
Administer medications via IV, IM, SQ, oral, and injectable routes
Deliver detailed post-procedure and critical care monitoring
Client Communication
Provide overnight patient updates to pet owners
Communicate treatment plans, diagnostics, and next steps with clarity and compassion
Team Collaboration
Work closely with ER doctors, ICU teams, and Internal Medicine specialists
Participate in case rounds and ensure continuity of care across departments
Medical Records & Facility Standards
Maintain accurate, thorough medical records and treatment logs
Ensure ICU, treatment, and workspaces are clean, stocked, and hospital-ready

What We're Looking For:
2-3 years of veterinary hospital experience (Emergency, ICU, or Specialty strongly preferred) Advanced technical skills in anesthesia, emergency procedures, and patient monitoring Comfortable working independently on overnight shifts Strong communication skills and a calm, confident presence in high-pressure situations Physically able to lift, restrain, and stand for extended periods A true patient-first mindset and commitment to gold-standard care Preferred (Not Required) Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, CVT) Prior experience in Emergency, ICU, or Specialty Medicine Familiarity with critical care protocols and specialty diagnostics 🚀 Growth & Learning Opportunities with Innovetive PetcareCompetitive Pay:

About Animal Emergency & Specialty Center - Knoxville Animal Emergency & Specialty Center of Knoxville is an AAHA Accredited, premier referral and emergency veterinary hospital. We have an emergency and critical care unit that is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have a variety of board-certified surgeons and specialists at AESC who treat a wide range of veterinary orthopedic, oncology, thoracic, abdominal, and soft-tissue conditions. Our team includes over 20 compassionate and highly trained Licensed Veterinary Technicians, numerous veterinary assistants, other support staff, and supportive administration. We have the latest specialized surgery and diagnostic instrumentation and equipment including 16-slice CT scanner, Vivid iQ echocardiogram platform, digital radiology, ultrasound systems, fluoroscopy unity, endoscopy, high-def Storz tower with new laparoscopic equipment, Arthrex equipment, LigaSure, Autocon III, Storz Ho-YAG laser, Synthes locking plates, and ESF equipment.
