Job Description

Seeking an experienced veterinary technician for a full-time position on our team. We are a large and small animal private practice located in the beautiful Hill Country in Bertram, TX, just north of Austin. We pride ourselves on providing quality veterinary care at affordable prices. Our diverse daily medical care include wellness and preventative medicine, diagnostics, dental care, surgery, radiology and therapeutic laser. Our staff works together efficiently as a team to provide both the client and patient with excellent care and an individualized treatment plan. Client education is a very important part of our practice. Applicants must have effective communication skills, a basic knowledge of common diseases and commonly used medications and preventative healthcare recommendations. We are a fast-paced practice, and our team is expected to work seamlessly together to provide quality and compassionate care for our patients and clients. A postive attitude is a must! Duties include but not limited to:
  • Assisting during physical exams and vaccinations
  • Patient surgery preparation, monitoring anesthesia during surgeries and surgical recovery
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Caring for hospitalized patients
  • Performing basic lab procedures
  • blood panels, fecals, heartworm tests, ear and skin cytologies
  • Admitting and discharging surgery patients
  • Performing basic dental cleanings
  • Filling prescriptions and clearly communicating with the clients regarding medication instructions
  • Nail trims, suture removals and ear cleanings We have regular business hours of 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday
  • Friday.
Full time employees have one day off during the week. We are closed on weekends and most holidays. Wage are competitive and based on experience.
