com Dove Creek Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time or part-time veterinary technician to join our medical team. We are a busy full-service small animal practice located in a fast-growing suburban community. Our hospital puts patience care and client service first and we take pride in the opportunity to serve the Denton County area. The ideal candidate should be a motivated self-starter and team player. Experience is preferred. Key duties, tasks, and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Consistent and effective communication with pet owners and staff Educating clients on basic pet care, treatment protocols, and financial information Management of medical records, including client information and billing, patient vital signs, and complete medical notes Collection of patient blood, urine and stool samples for lab testing Routine lab testing and interpretation Placement of IV catheters for administration of IV drugs and fluid therapy Collection and development x-rays Sterilization of instruments and equipment for surgery Preparation of patients for routine and emergency surgical procedures Administration of anesthesia to patients Safe restraint of patients of all sizes during physical examination, testing, and treatments Administration of in-house medical treatments to pets according to veterinarian and filling prescriptions Applicants should include a resume with at least three references. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
