Job Description

We're looking for a Veterinary Technician with 5+ years experience to join our team! We're a 4 doctor, full-service hospital that treats small animals and exotics. We are a trusted, privately-owned practice that has been open and thriving since 1992. Our technicians are a vital part of the team and our goal is to empower and support our staff to foster a positive work environment. Responsibilities Include:
Assisting veterinarians during exams and surgeries In-house diagnostics such as blood work, digital radiographs, urinalysis, fecal analysis, and ear cytologies Filling and administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians Performing dental cleanings Monitoring anesthesia and vital signs Providing post-operative care and monitor animals for any signs of complications Educating pet owners on proper animal care and discussing questions or concerns
Requirements:
5+ years experience as a Veterinary Technician Detail oriented, punctual, organized and able to multi-task and adapt in a busy environment Team player who enjoys working with others Skilled in anesthesia monitoring, dental cleanings, venipuncture, digital radiology, intubation, placing IV catheters and caring for hospitalized patients Experienced in laboratory/diagnostic procedures such as sample collection and analysis, digital radiology and in-house laboratory equipment Ability to handle and restrain animals safely while minimizing stress Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to educate pet owners effectively and professionally No schedule restrictions. Set schedule will consist of 4 weekdays (7:45am-6pm, 1 hour lunch), and Saturdays (7:45am-12pm). Days off will consist of one weekday, Sundays and one Saturday a month.
Bonus but NOT required:
