Job Summary:

The Animal Care Technician provides routine care for animals, ensuring their health, comfort, and safety. This role includes feeding, cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal behavior, assisting with medical treatments, and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Feed, water, and monitor animals according to established schedules.

Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and animal living areas.

Observe animals for signs of illness, injury, or behavioral changes and report concerns to supervisors or veterinarians.

Assist veterinarians or veterinary technicians during examinations and treatments.

Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff (where permitted).

Exercise, groom, and socialize animals when appropriate.

Maintain accurate records of feeding, treatments, and animal health.

Handle animals safely and humanely using proper restraint techniques.

Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations and safety protocols.

Stock supplies and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
