As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting veterinarians with various procedures, ensuring the health and well-being of our animal patients. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures by preparing equipment and ensuring a sterile environment through aseptic techniques. Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, while accurately interpreting results to aid in diagnosis. Provide compassionate care for animals by monitoring their health status, administering medications, and assisting with rehabilitation as needed. Utilize your knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to perform tasks such as animal catheterization and restraint effectively. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient treatments, ensuring compliance with veterinary terminology standards. Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry practices, including nutrition, grooming, and training techniques. Manage kennel operations by ensuring cleanliness and comfort for all animals in care while providing appropriate handling during their stay. Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment that fosters teamwork and enhances the quality of care provided. Qualifications Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role within the veterinary field. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to provide effective support in clinical settings. Experience with dog handling, pet grooming, and basic dog training techniques is highly desirable. Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices and laboratory procedures is an asset. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members alike. Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks performed. A degree or certification in Veterinary Technology is preferred but not mandatory; relevant experience will be considered.
