40 hours per week with scheduled weekend work required as part of animal care and production responsibilities Full-time position About the Role Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a full-time Animal Care Technician - Lab Operations to join its team in Benson, Vermont. Based at a USDA-registered sheep farm and laboratory, this role supports animal care, laboratory activities, and biological production associated with the manufacture of specialized antibodies used in diagnostic testing. This position supports production activities and may also assist with research and development and design control activities as needed. The role requires hands-on work with animals, laboratory processes, and production operations while following established quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. What You'll Do Provide daily care for our sheep, including feeding, watering, bedding, and routine mucking Help maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized farm and laboratory environment Work collaboratively with the team to support animal welfare, product quality, and production needs Assist with weekly animal sorting and other production activities Maintain accurate and complete records Process antisera and support day-to-day production activities Collect blood through plasmapheresis procedures Administer antigens and perform test bleeds Keys to Success Education High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Experience Experience working on a farm and/or with livestock Experience working in a laboratory environment Knowledge, Skills, Abilities A valid driver's license A dependable, reliable approach to your work Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate recordkeeping Good communication and organizational skills Comfort working both independently and as part of a team Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt as needs change throughout the day Basic computer skills Good analytical and problem-solving skills A willingness to learn and contribute in a hands-on, team-oriented environment Work Environment & Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position that combines work on a working sheep farm with laboratory and production activities.

Candidates should be comfortable:
