Job Description

Job Overview We are looking for a strong team-member to become part of the Sterling Family. Sterling Veterinary Clinic is a locally owned and operated small business, passionate about providing our patients and their people with comprehensive care options, education, and support, in a welcoming atmosphere. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in delivering high-quality care to animals. Your expertise in animal husbandry, restraint, and veterinary terminology will be crucial in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients. As a Veterinary Technician, you will work closely with both animals and their owners, contributing to a positive experience for all. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both the animal and staff. Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian. Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection. Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition and dental hygiene. Monitor animal behavior and health status during recovery periods. Provide kennel care, including feeding, cleaning, and exercising animals. Requirements Proven experience or education in veterinary technology or related field. Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology. Familiarity with veterinary terminology and dental terminology. Experience with dog handling and animal restraint techniques is essential. Ability to perform laboratory tasks accurately and efficiently. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
