Job Description
```
Duties:
```- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform animal restraint during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal examinations
- Monitor vital signs of animals during procedures and recovery
- Assist with surgical procedures, including preparation of surgical instruments and monitoring anesthesia
- Clean and maintain equipment, exam rooms, and kennels
- Provide basic animal care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise ```
Requirements:
```- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification or degree in veterinary technology OR minimum 1 year previous experience working as a veterinary technician or assistant
- Knowledge of animal care and husbandry practices
- Proficiency in animal restraint techniques
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment
- Ability to perform basic veterinary procedures such as catheterization and wound care
- Experience working with a variety of animals, including small animals and exotic pets
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Urgent care experience preferred
