Job Description
Position Summary Maintenance Technician - start out on night shift , and then you will have option to go to other shifts The Maintenance Technician (night shift) supports the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to reduce unscheduled downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production machinery and facility systems while upholding safety, quality, and operational standards. Experience & Education Candidates should have technical training in a maintenance-related field or three years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance. Boiler, chiller, or HVAC training preferred, along with Mechanical Maintenance experience Food manufacturing experience required Experience with boilers, chillers, or HVAC systems required Technical Skills • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills in a production environment • Experience with: maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing Bearings, seals, and gaskets maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing Gearboxes, chains, belts, clutches, and brakes Hydraulics and compressed air systems (preferred) experienced in compressed air systems, basic plumbing/piping, Boilers, and Hydraulics) Strong mechanical background in a production setting; troubleshooting and repairing gearboxes, sprocket/chains, belts, clutches, bearings, and brakes Ability to use power tools, hand tools, and shop equipment Ability to read and interpret: Blueprints, schematics , and technical manuals Safety rules and operating procedures Work Environment & Physical Requirements Lift 50-70 lbs and perform repetitive motions Stand for extended periods (8+ hours) Climb ladders and work at elevated heights (including lifts) Work in non-climate-controlled environments Exposure to oils, greases, chemicals, humidity, heat, and vibration May work in confined spaces Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Computer & Data Skills Basic computer literacy for processing work orders Ability to learn data collection processes, including wet chemistry water testing Accurate documentation and recordkeeping skills Key Responsibilities Support and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime Analyze equipment issues and perform troubleshooting and repairs Perform mechanical maintenance on production and facility equipment Inspect, test, and validate machinery performance after repairs Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, GMPs, and OSHA standards Troubleshoot plant mechanical systems and implement sustainable solutions Complete work orders on time and maintain detailed maintenance records Assist with equipment changeovers and production line startups Identify and manage spare parts inventory and reorder needs Ensure products meet quality standards Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team projects Maintain clear communication across departments Develop technical and leadership skills through ongoing training Facility & Equipment Support - Maintain and safely operate plant utility systems, including: o Steam boilers | Water chillers | Cooling towers | HVAC systems | Well pumps and other utilities Soft Skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and within a team Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability Professional attitude and appearance Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Work Requirements Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed Must supply and maintain basic personal tools Ability to follow instructions in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule format Must be able to read and write in English Additional Expectations Commitment to continuous learning and skill development Participation in process improvement initiatives Collaborative team behavior and alignment with company standards #
