00 1-year Term Lakeridge High School General Functions Instructional Team Leaders are responsible for leading instructional improvement, teacher representation, instructional development and management functions within the school to which assigned. The instructional team leader works with and through the principal to achieve building and district goals. Instructional team leaders share a responsibility to inspire and engage others in a focused and cooperative effort toward district-wide improvement. Specific Functions Engages in the improvement of instruction through such activities as modeling teaching behaviors and strategies, leading the team to investigate best practices, and facilitating peer sharing. Plans for and assists in the development and revision of department or grade level direction and goals. Understands and implements the adopted curriculum while guiding team discussion on items such as formative and summative assessments, differentiation, unit timelines, and calibration of scoring. Guides and directs PLC meetings, assists with goal development for both long term and short term objectives, monitors and oversees data collection for the department or grade level team. Coordinates Response to Intervention implementation. Represents teachers of the department or grade level in building and acts as a building-wide representative for cross grade collaboration. Performs other tasks as needed. Organizational Relationships Reports to the building principal; communicates with other instructional team leaders within the building and district.
