Provides general assistance to various maintenance crews during the winter months. Responds to and interacts with residents, employees and/or others within and outside the organization in a courteous, professional and effective manner. Participated in snow removal operations both inside and outside of normal shift hours.

hours per week for approximately 12 weeks from December to March Monday - Friday 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. May include hours outside of the normal schedule for snow and ice removal

Participates in snow removal operations at Village maintained sites, streets, and cul-de-sacs. Daily 100% 2 Assists crews with snow/ice control related activities, as assigned. Daily 100% 3 Assists Traffic Operations crews with related activities, including sign fabrication, sign posting, pothole patching, street repairs and barricade maintenance. Daily 100% 4 Performs vehicle and equipment maintenance, including washing, waxing, vacuuming, cleaning and lubricating. Daily 100% 5 Performs miscellaneous tasks and assignments, including floor sweeping, window cleaning and site maintenance activities. Daily 100% (as needed) 6 Performs miscellaneous tasks and assignments, including painting. Daily 100% 7 Operates and properly maintains all tools and equipment needed to perform the essential job functions and responsibilities listed above while adhering to all safety rules and practices. Ability to:
Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis. Ability to lift or move 50 - 100 lbs on an occasional basis. Ability to operate equipment, such as a hand operated salt spreader, snow shovel, hand saw, pruners, pole saw, etc. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a Village vehicle to pick up and return auto parts to various locations in the Northwest suburbs. Must be familiar with the area. Steel-toe safety shoes are required. ( not provided by employer ) Minimum age required is 18.
