Job Description

McGregor PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly) is a community-based service program that provides in-home healthcare services to the elderly as an alternative to nursing home placement, allowing Seniors to remain at home. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Medical Records Specialist to join our team at PACE. As a Medical Records Specialist , you will be responsible for maintaining secure medical record systems in a timely manner for the Center in accordance with State and Federal regulations, as well as professional standards of practice and facility policies and procedures.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE CANDIDATE TO BE IN PERSON
Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining accurate and complete participant medical records through the use of electronic medical record systems Validates the accuracy of participant information within the electronic medical record Uploads outside medical records to participant electronic medical records in a timely manner to facilitate continuity of care Responsible for processing outside medical record requests per policy Interacts and communicates effectively with clinical and non-clinical staff during meetings Maintains agendas and minutes for meetings as directed. Includes sharing of the computer screen, use of TEAMS, and an external recording device to maintain the privacy of information. Follows up with managers for missing assessments and documentation. Works with other medical records specialists to ensure coverage at all scheduled meetings. Utilizes reporting features available to ensure PACE remains compliant with regulatory guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic database skills is required High School diploma or equivalent; Certification or associate's degree in medical Records is preferred Technology or other related healthcare profession is preferred The ability to function independently with attention to detail and in a fast-paced environment is required Able to multitask and communicate with teammates when needed assistance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of healthcare and electronic medical records is preferred. One to two years of previous experience in Medical Records.
