Responsibilities Develop, implement, and evaluate infection control policies and procedures aligned with current public health guidelines and OSHA standards. Conduct comprehensive patient observation and monitoring to identify potential infection risks or outbreaks promptly. Review medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols and accurate data collection for reporting purposes. Educate staff on aseptic techniques, microbiology principles, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Lead investigations into infection incidents, review care plans, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate future risks. Collaborate with management on infection control strategies, including epidemiology studies and physiology knowledge to understand disease transmission pathways. Maintain detailed records of infection rates, microbiology lab results, and compliance audits while ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Skills Critical care experience combined with hospital or medical-surgical background enhances your ability to manage complex cases effectively. Knowledge of infectious disease care, epidemiology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and public health principles is essential. Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams or projects related to infection control initiatives. Strong data management capabilities including data collection, analysis, documentation review, and report writing. Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) processes and medical terminology used in healthcare documentation. Ability to monitor patient care closely using nursing skills while applying aseptic techniques rigorously. $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
