QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree preferred, licensed to teach in North Carolina, a minimum of 4 years of 6-8 or 9-12 classroom teaching experience. Strong collaboration skills and professional development experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The position is housed within the department of Curriculum & Instruction and directed by Assistant Superintendent - Curriculum & Instruction, Executive Director - Media & Technology, and the Principal. Serve as AIG contact for the high school. The Instructional Coach will attend all Academic Coach meetings Deliver professional development in the area of formative assessment (CASA)comprehension strategies, vocabulary, and Common Core/Essential Standards Support technology integration and implementation in the classroom Collaborate with academic coaches and instructional technology specialists Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with administrative and school personnel Co-teach, model lessons, and provide meaningful instructional support to classroom teachers Act as a positive liaison for teachers and administrators Serve as contact for district and school level formative assessments Assist the Central Office Curriculum Staff and other administrative personnel in the planning, implementing, and evaluating of district professional development Prepare and organize educational materials for professional development activities Assist in the development and analysis of professional development needs assessments Train and support administrators and instructional personnel with current research based instructional practices and assessment procedures Monitor the instructional practices and assessment procedures as follow-up activities to professional development Support implementation of instructional best practices and system curriculum initiatives through demonstration lessons, coaching, and professional development training Train instructional personnel to compile and analyze student performance data Assist with system wide curriculum activities to be determined by the Assistant Superintendent-Curriculum & Instruction. Activities may include: science fair, textbook adoption, and etc. Assist with the completion of reports required by the federal, state, and local educational departments Meet regularly with the school administrator to review all information to be presented to the instructional staff Attend local, state, and national professional development
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
NC Teacher certification with experience in 6-8 and/or 9-12 Strong organization, management and leadership skills Strong foundation in development and delivery of professional development Knowledge of and desire to support the implementation of best practices; research based programs, and the Common Core and Essential Standards. Strong technology skills and successful experience in technology integration. AIG Certification
