For more information, visit us online at gcsu . The Student Assistant supports the daily operations and student-facing services of the Georgia College International Education Center. Reporting to designated professional staff within the Center, the student assistant contributes to the effective implementation of education abroad programs, international student and scholar services, communications, events, and administrative processes. The student assistant provides front-line support to students, faculty, and visitors; assists with program logistics and documentation; and helps maintain an organized, welcoming, and globally engaged office environment. Working collaboratively with Center staff and campus partners, the student assistant plays an important role in advancing Georgia College's mission to promote international education and cross-cultural understanding. Front-Line Support and Customer Service - 25 The Student Assistant provides welcoming and professional front-line support to students, faculty, and visitors. Responsibilities include greeting guests, answering routine questions, directing inquiries to appropriate staff, monitoring shared email accounts as assigned, and assisting with general office communication. The Student Assistant helps maintain a positive, service-oriented environment that reflects the mission of the International Education Center. Program and Event Support - 25 The Student Assistant assists with the implementation of education abroad programs, international student services activities, and globally focused events. Duties may include preparing materials, supporting orientation sessions, assisting with workshops or information sessions, managing check-in processes, and helping with event setup and breakdown. The Student Assistant contributes to ensuring that programs are well organized and professionally executed. Administrative and Records Support - 25 The Student Assistant supports administrative operations through data entry, document preparation, digital file organization, and basic records maintenance in accordance with office standards. The Student Assistant may assist with application processing, checklist monitoring, and routine tracking tasks under staff supervision. Accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail are essential. Communications and Outreach Assistance - 20 The Student Assistant assists with communications efforts, including drafting routine announcements, updating bulletin boards, preparing digital content, and supporting outreach initiatives. The Student Assistant helps ensure that messaging is clear, timely, and consistent with the Center's professional standards. Other Duties as assigned - 5 The Student Assistant performs other duties as assigned in support of the International Education Center's operations and participates in training sessions and team meetings as appropriate. Educational Requirements Enrollment as an undergraduate student at Georgia College in good academic standing. Ability to work a flexible schedule around class commitments. Other Required Qualifications No prior professional experience required. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and willingness to learn in academic, volunteer, or student-organization settings. Preferred Educational Qualifications Completion of at least one semester at Georgia College. Preferred Experience Experience in customer service, student leadership, event support, peer mentoring, or office assistance is desirable but not required. Interest in international education, cross-cultural engagement, or global learning is preferred. $10.00 / hourABILITIES

Basic familiarity with a university environment and an understanding of professionalism and confidentiality in a student-services setting. SKILLS Strong interpersonal and communication skills, basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to complete routine administrative tasks accurately.
