Job Description

Category Imaging - IR Tech Job Type Contract Specializing in Interventional Radiology, this contract role calls for a detail-oriented and skilled imaging professional to provide invasive diagnostic imaging procedures under physician direction. You will support patient evaluation and care through expert execution of imaging studies, assisting radiologists in accurately diagnosing various pathological conditions.
Schedule/Hours:
8:00am - 4:30pm Participation in on-call rotation: One weekend every 6 weeks Monday-Friday evenings every 6 weeks (on-call frequency dependent on department volume/scheduling needs)
Qualifications:
Active and current ARRT certification (Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) preferred) Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Prior experience as an IR Tech or in interventional imaging techniques is strongly desired Familiarity with radiation safety practices and principles of
ALARA Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and safely administer prescribed contrast media, IV solutions, and necessary medications for procedures Explain procedures to patients, obtain medical history, and ensure appropriate patient preparation Set up and maintain sterile field, physiological monitors, pressure injectors, and imaging equipment Provide direct assistance during invasive procedures, monitoring patient condition throughout Maintain and restock procedure room supplies to ensure readiness Perform all required imaging while employing best practices for radiation protection and patient safety Resolve image quality issues within PACS; ensure accurate and complete study delivery in RIS Accurately complete all required documentation in the medical record and radiology systems Mentor and train new staff or students as assigned This position offers a chance to work with advanced imaging technology alongside a collaborative team of healthcare professionals, all while delivering quality patient care in a dynamic clinical environment.
