Job Description

Overview This position requires extensive knowledge of commercial, industrial, and residential HVAC systems, including all components of large steam boilers and chillers. Candidates must possess a basic understanding of steam heating systems and all related parts, along with experience performing preventative maintenance on a wide range of equipment. The position also requires knowledge of building automation and control systems, with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment and system malfunctions. Responsibilities include maintaining and supporting HVAC operations across a college campus consisting of 26 commercial buildings and 12 residential properties. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair of residential and industrial HVAC equipment which includes VAV and hot water systems. Preventative maintenance of HVAC equipment which includes filter changes, coil washing, belts and greasing motors. Knowledge of High Pressure Steam Boilers, operations, and maintenance. Knowledge of building automation systems for diagnostics and repair. Knowledge of steam trap troubleshooting, repair and maintenance. Knowledge and experience installing and maintaining residential HVAC systems. Knowledge of wiring diagrams to troubleshoot HVAC systems and understanding controls. Installation of new equipment and small projects. Refrigeration systems, chillers and VFD maintenance. Knowledge of commercial kitchen refrigeration equipment. Requires on call work and other duties as assigned requirements. Proven journey-level experience in HVAC/R service technician roles with a strong background in construction environments. Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration, plumbing, and appliance repair. EPA Refrigeration Certification Rocky Mountain Gas Association Certification Ability to read schematics accurately and apply HVAC design principles during installation or troubleshooting processes. Mechanical knowledge encompassing equipment repair, welding techniques, boiler systems, and general property maintenance. Hands-on experience with field service operations involving complex mechanical systems; familiarity with refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable. Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; capable of performing electrical repairs safely and effectively.
Pay:
$49,816.00 - $55,816.00 per year
