Journeyman Tool and Die Maker

POSITION TITLE

Journeyman Tool & Die Maker SHIFT:

1st and 2nd Shifts

PAY RANGE

$31/hr. - $32.55/hr. - (Based on skills and experience)

Primary Position Responsibilities:

Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies. Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators. File, grind, shim, and adjust different parts to properly fit them together. Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary. Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects. Lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables, using hoists, vises, v-blocks, or angle plates. Design, build, and maintain dies, jigs, and fixtures using machinist tools and equipment Troubleshoot and repair tooling problems Set-up and operate lathe, mill, saws, and surface grinders Develop control process for die standards CNC equipment programming as required Able to read, understand and follow all ISO guidelines both 9000 and 14001

Essential Job Requirements:

• Must have a State Certified Journeyman Tool and Die certification. Must have at least 5 years of Die and Machining experience Troubleshooting experience Die repair/Die Troubleshooting and Machining experience - CNC MIG/TIG welding experience Strong computer knowledge (Plexus, Excel, Outlook, etc.) along with excellent attendance history Excellent written/oral communication skills Able to work overtime and weekends as required Knowledge of OSHA machine standards
