Job Description

BACKGROUND
Universal Compressed Air (UCA) is a privately-owned and thriving high-technology business in the Lehigh Valley, focused on compressed air systems for industry. UCA engineers, constructs, operates and manages Compressed Air Systems (CAS) for the industrial market in North America and is currently seeking candidates for a System Administrator to work on user enablement, modern workspace deployment, IAM, collaboration architecture.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are transitioning from an outsourced Managed Service Provider (MSP) model to a dedicated in-house engineering team. We are looking for a Junior System Administrator to be the second full-time member of this team. This is not a dead-end helpdesk role. You will work directly alongside a Senior Engineer with over 20 years of experience , honing the skills needed to manage a modern, cloud-first infrastructure. Your goal is not just to close tickets, but to grow into a full-fledged System Administrator. What You Will Accomplish (Impact) User Enablement (50-75%): You will be the primary problem-solver for our ~60 staff members. You won't just "fix" computers; you will identify root causes to stop problems from coming back.
Modern Workspace Deployment:
You will assist in configuring and managing Microsoft Intune policies, ensuring our laptops and mobile devices are secure, updated, and "zero-touch" ready.
Knowledge Engineering:
You will help build our internal Knowledge Base from scratch, turning tribal knowledge into documented processes that scalable teams rely on.
Identity & Access:
You will manage user onboarding/offboarding using modern Entra ID (Azure AD) standards, ensuring the right people have the right access to Autodesk Construction Cloud and other critical tools.
Collaboration Architecture:
You will assist in the rollout and structure of SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams , helping business units move away from legacy file servers to modern collaboration sites.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
We don't expect you to be an expert in all of these on Day 1, but we expect you to be eager to master them:
Core Infrastructure:
Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Basic Networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP). Microsoft 365
Cloud Identity:
Entra ID (SSO, MFA, Conditional Access).
Endpoint Manager:
Microsoft Intune (Autopilot, Configuration Profiles).
Collaboration:
SharePoint Online (Permissions, Site Design), Microsoft Teams.
Enterprise Systems:
Autodesk Construction Cloud (User management & License assignment). Microsoft Business Central (Leading ERP solution; you will learn to support it).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
1-3 years in an IT Support, Helpdesk, or Junior Admin role.
Education:
Associate's Degree in IT/Computer Science OR relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft MD-102) combined with experience.
Physical:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., racking UPS units or moving workstations).
On-Call:
No current on-call rotation (though this may evolve as the team grows in 12+ months). Who You Are The "Builder"

You prefer fixing the system over fixing the symptom .
The Learner:
You have a home lab, you listen to tech podcasts, or you read documentation for fun. You are hungry to learn why things work, not just which button to click.
The Communicator:
You can explain technical issues to non-technical project managers without making them feel small.
Pre-Employment Screening:
Candidate must be able to pass pre-employment background checks, which includes pre-employment drug screening, per UCA Corporate policies and procedures.
Language and Communication Skills :
Ability to write reports basic activity reports and, if needed, provide updates to procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other associates, managers, and Customers. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures.
Computer & Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Ability to apply basic math concepts and perform detailed/accurate data entry. Proficiency with MS Office, business software, and database management.
Reasoning/Analytical Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to high. This position may require flexibility in normal working hours, but it is expected to follow the typical working hours for the UCA corporate offices. Travel requirement is expected to be ~10%.
