Lab Pack Chemist

Job Title:

Pack Chemist Job Description The position involves handling hazardous materials, including inventorying, identifying, segregating, and packaging waste material in accordance with Lab Pack policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Responsibilities Perform onsite services, including waste collection, consolidation (i.e., bulking, repackaging), sampling, safety/compliance inspections, and other related activities required by the customer/contract. Assist other business groups internally. Prepare shipments of packaged waste by inspecting, labeling, marking, and loading into the transport vehicle. Complete documentation, including shipping papers, Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs), evaluations/certifications, and other required documentation in accordance with appropriate regulations and procedures. Follow, understand, and promote all Health & Safety/Job Safety Analysis procedures, including developing on-site Health & Safety plans as outlined in the procedures and policies. Submit Lab Packs for approval to third-party outlets. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Science, Environmental Science, or Chemistry. Basic understanding of chemistry through general chemistry or biology. Advanced knowledge of EPA and DOT regulations. Minimum of one year of lab pack experience (if no degree in science field). Additional Skills & Qualifications Physical ability to lift and move material of various weights, frequently exceeding 55 lbs. Work Environment The role requires being on your feet for extended periods each day and working in an environment dealing with water, dirt, and soil. You must be comfortable working in an atmosphere with fumes. This is not a lab position; you will be expected to work with hazardous chemicals, mixing and packing. The environment is non-temperature controlled, meaning it can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The shift is 2nd shift, from 3pm to 11:30pm Monday to Thursday, and from 11am to 7:30pm on Fridays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hatfield, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.03/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
