CANDIDATE MUST LIVE IN LAMONT.
Day shift and also willing to work some nights. We will require you to operate one of our company vehicles, assisting our clients with breakdowns with services such as changing their tires or transporting them to a nearby garage, or towing cars that have a parking or other illegal infraction and accidents. Your duties will include driving to the site of the breakdown or accident, assessing the damage to the vehicle, making minor repairs, and towing the vehicle to a company-approved service station or company yard if required. Our ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills to interact with customers and can manage their time well while on the road. To ensure success as a tow truck operator, you should have basic mechanical and auto electrical skills, be able to communicate clearly, and have completed an advanced driving course. Ultimately, a top-class tow truck operator provides helpful, professional service for all clients.
Non-CDL Tow Truck Operator Responsibilities:
Arrive at work on time daily, ready for duty when shift starts Receiving communications from company dispatcher Stay in contact with motorists when you are in route Interacting with the customer to find out the nature of the problem Respond to accidents, break-downs, and other roadside incidents Perform basic repairs or tow their vehicle to a garage Safely load cars onto the back of your truck Complete pre-trip inspection sheets daily Keep your truck clean and in good condition Maintain truck fluid levels according to manufacturer's standards Maintain consistently excellent attendance Abide by all Federal, State, and Municipal laws, rules and ordinances and maintain a clean driving record. Maintain personal appearance and uniform in compliance with company standards Cooperate with all co-workers Assist in training new employees when requested Perform other duties, including dispatching, cleaning office and shop, and maintaining storage yards, as requested
Job Qualifications:
A valid class c driver's license Clean driving record At least 3 year of driving experience Live in geographical area which will allow timely response to calls from home after hours and holidays as required Strong communication and time management skills Basic mechanical skills Attention to detail when documenting work Physical strength and stamina. Ability to safely lift 75 pounds unassisted Ability to sit in vehicle seat for extended periods, significant amount of driving, bending, lifting, listening to and responding to radio, and phone communications Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations - Successfully pass a drug test
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
