We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an estimator. This can be combined with other skills to be a full time position such as Landscape designer, sales, construction coordination and supervison. Most projects are mid- to high-end residential landscapes located within 30 minutes of our Pleasant Hill office . Position Overview This role is responsible for preparing accurate project estimates, supporting design and construction planning, and assisting in the supervision of landscape installation projects from pre-construction through completion. The ideal candidate brings strong field experience, technical knowledge, and a collaborative, client-focused mindset. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Pre-Construction Prepare detailed estimates for in-house landscape designs and outside architectural plans Perform quantity takeoffs and cost estimates using and continuously improving our Excel-based estimating system Estimate projects including grading, irrigation, gas and electrical, lighting, carpentry, water features, masonry, and related scope Develop clear, professional proposals using company templates Collaborate with designers on constructability input, takeoffs, and preliminary budgeting Adjust estimating assumptions using collected crew productivity data Project Supervision & Client Relations (OPTIONAL) Assist the owner and designers in overseeing installation projects to ensure compliance with plans, proposals, schedules, and company standards Coordinate task sequencing, scheduling, and material procurement Work closely with foremen, subcontractors, and clients to anticipate needs and communicate next steps Provide samples, mockups, and recommendations as needed Manage client requests, project changes, and internal adjustments; identify upsell opportunities when appropriate Support compliance with applicable codes, laws, regulations, and inspections Assist in troubleshooting construction or installation challenges Landscape Designer (optional) Design in a variety of styles, though most are low water use and low maintenance that attract wildlife. Use SkechUp to design 3D color planting and hardscape plans Work with clients and owner to determine what is wanted and needed and doable with the client's level of investment. Field layout of plants. Write up proposals, change orders and completion packet. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of hands-on field experience in landscape construction or related trades Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods, materials, and best practices High proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to read blueprints, perform accurate takeoffs, and measure using tools such as laser levels Ability to produce rough sketches and grading plans Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication skills with clients, designers, crew members, and subcontractors Professional, positive, and client-focused demeanor Ability to manage personnel, clients, and subcontractors effectively Valid driver's license with a good DMV record Vehicle reimbursement or a company vehicle will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications Degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Architecture, Construction Management, or Engineering Horticultural knowledge and understanding of sustainable landscape practices Bilingual (Spanish preferred) Experience using AI tools and modern construction or estimating technology Sales aptitude and strong client-service skills Ability to perform small repairs when needed (Superintendent option)

$40.00 - $60.00 per hour
