LANDSCAPE CREW FOREMAN
Landmark Nursery and Landscaping, Eagle, NE
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced Landscape Crew Foreman to lead residential and/or commercial installation crews. This is a hands-on, outdoor role that requires strong leadership, solid technical skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality work efficiently and safely. If you have less experience but are motivated to grow, we also have openings for intermediate landscape installers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Crew Leadership & Job Execution Lead a landscape installation crew on a daily basis; set pace and lead by example. Review the day's plan with the installation department head; organize tools, materials, and crew assignments. Ensure projects are completed on time, to spec, and to company quality standards. Keep the crew working efficiently and safely, and motivate team members as needed. Landscape & Hardscape Installation Install plants, trees, sod, mulch, and other landscape materials according to design plans. Install basic hardscapes, including pavers, flagstone, and small wall projects. Complete more intricate landscape installations, which may include hardscaping and low-voltage lighting. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site. Equipment Operation & Maintenance Safely operate and maintain skid steers and other heavy equipment (loading, transport, usage, daily checks). Operate and maintain all common landscape hand tools and power tools. Train crew members on proper tool and equipment use. Customer & Team Communication Communicate clearly and professionally with customers on site. Address questions, minor changes, and small add-ons; suggest enhancements that benefit both the client and the company. Communicate effectively with the installation department head and office staff about job status, issues, and needs. Organization & Reporting Track and record materials used and crew hours accurately. Turn in all required paperwork and digital records on time. Help identify ways to improve processes, efficiency, and job quality.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3 years of landscape installation experience with a reputable landscaping company.
Strong working knowledge of:
- Planting, grading, drainage basics, and general landscape construction. - Basic hardscape installation (pavers, flagstone, small walls). Proven ability to lead a crew and manage a job site independently. Able to lift 75 lbs repeatedly and perform physically demanding work all day. Willing and able to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other challenging weather. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Reliable transportation and a working cell phone. Self-motivated, reliable, and punctual; arrives early (15 minutes before crews) to prepare for the day. Strong communication skills and a positive, "can-do" attitude. Willingness to be coached, learn new skills, and support other departments when needed. Consistent safety mindset and respect for company policies and procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience installing more complex hardscapes and/or landscape lighting. Experience training and mentoring less-experienced crew members. Chemical pesticide applicator's license (or willingness to obtain). Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
Full-time position; some Saturdays required during peak season.
Pay range:
$25-$35 per hour or salaried options , ranges are based on experience, skills, and work ethic. Company-provided uniforms; you provide work boots/shoes (meeting safety requirements), knife, and gloves. Boot fund available after 1 year of employment.
