5Summary:
Maintains landscaped areas, flower beds, parking lots, and other designated areas located on Casino property. The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.Essential Job Functions:
Assists in ensuring the proper maintenance of assigned Casino grounds. Able to be trained on various types of groundskeeping tools and equipment. Mows lawns and trims/edges around walks, flower beds, walls, and/or other assigned areas. With assistance, able to prune trees and shrubs; deadheads bedding plants. Performs weeding of flowerbeds, pathways, and/or other designated areas. With assistance, able to plants bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees. Waters exterior and greenhouse plant materials. Sweeps and maintains parking lots; cleans up spills; picks up trash and debris from grounds. Empties and/or cleans trash receptacles located throughout the property; replaces dog bags. Repairs fences, gates, outbuildings, curbs, and asphalt. Assists with painting parking lots, crosswalks, speed bumps, and road signage. Shovels and removes snow from sidewalks, roads, and parking lots. Cleans and maintains bus stops and underpass; pressure washes sidewalks and light poles. Assists with installing promotional banners and/or posting special event signs as required. With assistance, able to monitor, water, clean, rotate, and rearrange interior plants. Provides assistance in maintaining departmental facilities.Spirit Mountain Standards:

Basic principles and practices of groundskeeping. Basic groundskeeping materials, tools, equipment, and machinery. Basic safety protocols relative to the operation of groundskeeping equipment.Required Skill in:
Performing a variety of landscaping and groundskeeping functions. Properly maintaining grounds located on Casino property. Safely utilizing and maintaining departmental tools and equipment. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Low security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission. Must possess valid driver's license and provide a copy of driving record. Candidate must be insurable by SMGI's corporate policy. Must be at least 18 years of age. Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Work is performed primarily in outdoor environments with exposure to variable/extreme weather conditions, dust, dirt, fumes, pesticides, hazardous materials, traffic hazards, equipment with moving mechanical parts, and noise from equipment operation; occasional exposure to cigarette smoke. Work is subject to frequent walking, intermittent standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, and occasional sitting and lifting up to 80 pounds.Equipment and Tools Utilized:
Equipment utilized includes, mowers, groundskeeping machinery, power tools, hand tools, general gardening tools, and department vehicles.
