Job Description

JOB The Wakulla County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants for a Full Time Animal Control Officer within the Department of Public Safety. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Senior Animal Control Officer and Animal Services Director.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, responding to citizen calls for service, complaints, and requests from other agencies. Inspects and licenses kennels within Wakulla County jurisdiction. Makes periodic oral presentations to schools and various groups in educating the public on animal control issues; issues notice of violations; issues hearing notices; acts as process server; prepares written and oral reports involving contested cases; assists prosecuting Attorney's Office and Sheriff's Office as required in cases or issues involving animals. Also responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of maintaining the shelter.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Generous benefits package with a potential value of up to $30,000 annually.
