Code Enforcement Officer Wage:

up to $29.00/hour

Hours:

up to 30 hours per week

Overview:

The duties of the Code Enforcement Officer are to uphold property maintenance standards in accordance with local ordinances.

Responsibilities include:

Responding to resident complaints via phone, e-mail and in person. Enforcing ordinance violations regarding weeds, blight, sign regulations, zoning compliance, trash and refuse, etc. Inspecting, citing and abating nuisances and zoning violations. Identifying violations throughout Northfield Township. Issuing Summons, Complaints, and tickets when necessary. Maintaining records and supporting documents for all enforcement activities. Assisting township attorney and testifying in court cases when necessary. The Code Enforcement Officer must be able to work with the general public in a calm, responsive manner; may be exposed to difficult and emotional situations involving potentially dangerous people, animals and locations. This position requires the ability and willingness to work outside in all weather conditions, and may require working irregular hours and weekends when needed.

Required:

High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license Safe driving record

Preferred:
