Job Description

Animal Care & Control Officer Petworks Animal Services | Kingsport, TN Part-Time (up to 30 hours/week)
Starting Pay:
$16.00/hour (higher based on experience) Turn your passion for animals into a career that makes a difference. Petworks Animal Services is looking for a compassionate, motivated Animal Care & Control Officer to join our team serving the City of Kingsport. This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to protect animals, support public safety, and make a lasting impact in your community every day. What You'll Do Rescue and safely care for lost, injured, neglected, and abandoned animals. Respond to animal-related emergencies and community calls. Investigate animal welfare concerns and help enforce local ordinances. Work alongside the local police department on cruelty and neglect cases. Educate pet owners and connect residents with community resources. Assist with shelter operations and animal care. Animal Control Officers may be required to obtain a certification to euthanize animals and to euthanize shelter animals when the veterinarian is not available. Be part of a dedicated team committed to compassion, professionalism, and service. What We're Looking For Must live close to the area for emergency calls. High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Strong communication skills and sound judgment. Ability to safely handle animals and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Animal handling experience is preferred, but we welcome candidates with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for animal welfare.
