Wyandotte Nation Government is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as a Court Safety & Security Officer / SORNA Officer. This dual-role position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment within the courthouse and surrounding facilities while also administering and enforcing the Nation's Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) Program. Duties include monitoring security screening equipment, controlling courthouse access, conducting patrols, responding to emergencies, enforcing court security policies, and coordinating with law enforcement agencies as needed. As the SORNA Officer, the selected candidate will maintain the Nation's sex offender registry, investigate registration violations, monitor offender compliance, prepare reports and court documentation, provide professional testimony, coordinate with partner agencies, and ensure adherence to federal and tribal SORNA requirements. The position also requires conducting community outreach, delivering training to law enforcement personnel and tribal departments, monitoring offender notifications, and promoting public awareness regarding sex offender registration requirements. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and hold current BIA or CLEET law enforcement certification. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of applicable laws, court procedures, and law enforcement practices; possess proficiency in firearms, defensive tactics, and evidence collection; maintain CPR/AED/First Aid certification; and be able to carry and qualify with a department-issued firearm in accordance with agency standards.
