Overview Join our dedicated team as a Detention Officer and play a vital role in maintaining safety, security, and order within correctional facilities. In this dynamic position, you will oversee inmate supervision, enforce correctional policies, and respond swiftly to emergencies. Your proactive approach and commitment to security will ensure a safe environment for staff, inmates, and visitors alike. Duties Monitor inmate activity through CCTV surveillance and maintain accurate records of daily operations Enforce correctional policies and procedures, including restraint procedures and application of force when necessary Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid, CPR, Taser deployment, and other law enforcement tools Manage inmate behavior using conflict management techniques and inmate supervision strategies Conduct security checks, heavy lifting tasks, manual handling, and inmate searches to ensure facility safety Write detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and facility operations following correctional report writing standards Assist with emergency response readiness by participating in drills and adhering to criminal justice policies Requirements Proven experience working with incarcerated individuals or in law enforcement environments Knowledge of CCTV operation, security protocols, and correctional policy compliance Training or certification in first aid, CPR, Taser use, fire arms handling in law enforcement, and self-defense techniques Familiarity with criminal justice policy and correctional restraint procedures Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely under pressure Strong conflict management skills coupled with excellent report writing abilities Demonstrated ability to respond effectively during emergency situations with a focus on safety and protocol adherence This role is ideal for motivated individuals committed to upholding safety standards within correctional facilities.
