Emergency Duty:

Summary The County of Volusia is seeking Part-Time Certified Corrections Officers for the Corrections Division located in Daytona Beach, Florida This position is responsible for maintaining custody, control, care, and general welfare of inmates detained in County correctional facilities. This position is posted on a continuous basis and may close without notice. Responsibilities Admit and release inmates in accordance with established procedures. Escort, supervise, and monitor inmates to maintain order, discipline, and security. Conduct searches of inmates, cells, and common areas to detect contraband or unauthorized items. Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and security of assigned areas. Patrol cell blocks and perform periodic inmate counts. Supervise inmate work details as assigned. Respond to emergencies, disturbances, or unusual situations with appropriate action. Complete reports and documentation related to inmate intake, release, and incidents. Ensure accountability of tools, equipment, and facility resources. Interact professionally with inmates, staff, and visitors in accordance with department policy.
